NAPERVILLE, IL - January 1, 2021 - DHJJ Certified Public Accountants and Business Advisors recently promoted Russ Brewer, Nicholas Brooks, and Elizabeth Herbst from Senior Managers to Principals. “DHJJ is happy to promote Elizabeth, Nick, and Russ to Principal as their dedication to our core values and growing our firm during these challenging times is representative of our entire firm,” Managing Director Patrick Kolzow said. “We are fortunate that our Principal team continues to grow.” Elizabeth (Liz) Herbst joined the firm in 2014 and brings over a decade of specialization assisting professional services firms, construction, and real estate industries with high-level tax planning and compliance, multi-state returns, and exit planning considerations. Liz is a graduate of Dominican University. Liz holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Business Management and an MBA. She is a member of the Illinois CPA Society Committee for Flow-Through Taxation and serves on a task force for the annual conference. Nick Brooks joined the firm in 2015 and serves various industries offering tax planning strategies, controllership services, and business advisory services, including budgeting and cash flow planning, accounting systems support, payroll & human resources, and succession planning. Nick has a dual degree, a Bachelor of Business Accountancy, and a Bachelor of Science in Information Management from Western Illinois University. Nick also serves as the treasurer for the St. Charles Chamber of Commerce. Russ Brewer joined the firm in 2017 and brought more than 13 years of experience to our Assurance department, assisting clients primarily in the manufacturing and distribution sector. He offers assurance services such as audits, reviews, compilations, and business consulting to his clients. He also helps companies with 401(k) plan audits. Russ earned his Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from Northern Illinois University. He is the Treasurer for Hearts for Hope, a non-profit organization that raises money primarily for the pediatric cardiology unit of Advocate Hospital.
