About
Tom Jordan is a Principal at DHJJ and has been with the firm for over 40 years. For 25 of those years, he served as Managing Director handling the firm’s internal operations before stepping down in 2017. Respect for clients and colleagues, alike, is a driving force in Tom’s interactions. For his own firm as well as client companies, his goal is creating an unrivaled environment that is not only successful, but where team members want to work.
With his vast experience to guide him, Tom leads the firm’s Management Advisory division. He offers a wealth of insight to business owners who look to him for business and management advice, outsourced CFO services, forensic analysis and merger & acquisition consulting. He also helps with traditional tax planning and preparation, accounting, audit, compilation and review services for businesses and their owners.
Unlike many CPAs, Tom’s first focus is on how to allocate the available funds to get the best result. He views expenses as an investment rather than a cost to be eliminated in every circumstance. This perspective helps his clients remain focused on the big picture and enjoy the journey as they grow their company.
In addition to his CPA license, Tom is holds Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF) credentials. His CFF background gives him the unique knowledge to help clients find answers in situations of theft or fraud.
Tom has a long history of active support for philanthropic and civic groups including many years of service with the Jaycees, where he previously served as chapter president. Under his leadership the group was the first to let women join the organization. He currently serves as treasurer of the White Eagle Golf Club.
Tom earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois. An opportunity to work at a small accounting firm with Carmen DiGiovine and Frank Hnilo relocated him to Naperville. That small accounting firm is today’s DHJJ. He has lived in Naperville since 1978.

An Illinois native, Tom is a huge Chicago Cubs fan who grew up on a farm in DeKalb.

Tom and his wife, Peggy, have been married for over 27 years and have two adult children.
