Nikki Wood is an Accounting Manager with over 10 years of expertise in financial management and strategic accounting. Focusing on small businesses, Nikki offers high-impact financial oversight that provides her clients with the insights needed to make strategic business decisions.
She specializes in helping businesses navigate complex day-to-day operations by improving processes and offering guidance on compliance and internal controls. Nikki is experienced with Oracle JD Edwards and QuickBooks/QBO and is highly proficient in Toast integration with QBO utilizing xtraCHEF. Her clients rely on her expertise in managing sales tax reporting, payroll, accounts payable and receivable procedures, and ensuring financial statements are accurate and informative.
After earning her Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences from the New College of Florida, Nikki completed additional coursework at Purdue University Northwest to prepare for the CPA exam and became a licensed CPA in 2016. She worked at a small CPA firm, and more recently held a “sweet” accounting role at a candy manufacturing company before joining DHJJ in 2024, bringing her experience and enthusiasm to the team.
Outside of Work:
Nikki is originally from Illinois, but has lived in 6 states and one other country. She moved back to Illinois because she missed the snow, and she says, “Midwesterners really are the friendliest!”
In the winter, Nikki loves walking in the snow, cross-country skiing, and the occasional snowshoeing adventure. In the summer, her favorite activities are Shakespeare in the Park and food festivals – more good reasons to live in Illinois!
Nikki loves cooking and used to dream of opening a bakery. Her nearly 300 cookbooks would have helped make her very successful.
