Mirella Hernandez is a Principal at DHJJ, having joined the firm in 2020. She brings two decades of experience in corporate and pass-through business tax. She serves businesses and individuals in a variety of industries, including manufacturing, wholesale, distribution, and services.
Mirella specializes in federal, state, and international tax compliance and tax planning. She strives to help business owners achieve their goals and understand our constantly changing tax laws.
Mirella earned her Bachelor’s and Master of Accounting from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois, as well as a Master of Tax from DePaul University in Chicago.
She is a member of the Association for Latin Professionals of America and frequently offers her expertise as a CPA through presentations to the organization. She also frequently presents on topics at her alma mater, Northern Illinois University.
Outside of Work:
Originally from Plano, Illinois, she spends her free time at home in Elgin with her two young boys watching football.
Naturally, she is a huge football fan, growing up the youngest of 3 and the only girl.
