Michele Lauer is a Senior Tax Manager at DHJJ, bringing over 25 years of experience in the accounting industry. She specializes in tax planning and consulting for individuals and their closely held businesses, as well as tax representation before the IRS and other taxing authorities. Michele primarily
serves clients in service-based industries such as medical and legal
professionals, as well as those in manufacturing and distribution. She provides practical, personalized solutions that help clients navigate complex financial matters with clarity and confidence.
Michele’s path to accounting was driven by a desire to support business
owners through both challenges and opportunities. She finds it incredibly
rewarding to act as a trusted advisor, guiding clients through all stages of life,
from business planning and succession to personal milestones like marriages, births, and estate transitions. Michele chose to join DHJJ because of the firm’s strong guiding principles and deep commitment to client service, values that
closely align with her own approach to advisory work.
Michele earned her Bachelor of Business Administration with concentrations in Accounting and Finance from St. Mary’s College Notre Dame, in Indiana. She became a licensed CPA in 2002 and currently holds CPA licensure in both Illinois and Michigan.
Outside of Work:
Michele lives with her husband Tim and their three energetic German Shorthaired Pointers, spending lots of time outdoors on the lake – swimming, boating, and exploring on their golf cart or Gator.
She has a daughter and two grandsons in North Carolina, as well as a son and one grandson in Florida.
