Joanna Thorne is an Accounting Manager at DHJJ with over 20 years of experience in auditing, general accounting, tax preparation, and bookkeeping. She has worked across various industries, including service, restaurant, and retail, providing advisory services to clients outsourcing part of their accounting functions. As a QuickBooks ProAdvisor, Joanna specializes in QuickBooks setup, implementation, and clean-up engagements. She also offers reviews of accounting and related software.
As a Manager, Joanna enjoys the training and teaching aspect of guiding staff and clients on the most efficient ways to record and complete bookkeeping and accounting tasks and working together to figure out the best processes and strategies to obtain accurate and timely financial records. Joanna loves meeting new clients and hearing about their stories, with a strong emphasis on examining current procedures and working on process improvements, all with the business owners’ vision in mind. Joanna’s curious nature currently has her interested in and actively learning about accounting in the real estate industry and real estate investing.
Joanna received her accounting degree from Eastern Illinois University. She is originally from central Illinois but has lived in Naperville for over 25 years with her husband and three children.
Outside of Work:
Joanna loves to spend time with her husband and kids and extended family, especially anything outside or sports related.
If she’s not cheering at her son’s football games or daughter’s soccer games, she enjoys working on home projects, relaxing by the pool, or going on a walk.
When she finds a little free time one of these days, Joanna would like to explore photography.
