About
Arleen Bankemper is a Principal specializing in state and local tax, accounting software, and payroll. With more than 35 years of experience, she takes a hands-on, detail-driven approach, partnering with businesses across multiple industries to create efficient, transparent accounting processes that support long-term success.
As a member of DHJJ’s Consulting and Advisory Services team, Arleen provides clients with tax, business advisory, accounting, and payroll solutions. As a QuickBooks® ProAdvisor and Sage Intacct Certified Professional, Arleen brings specialized expertise in all aspects of payroll accounting. Her extensive knowledge of accounting software enables her to guide clients through system selection, implementation, setup, and training.
Arleen holds a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from North Central College and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Arizona. She is also fluent in Spanish, allowing her to serve a broad and diverse client base. Arleen is deeply committed to delivering exceptional client service and takes pride in being a trusted, responsive resource for her clients. In recognition of her outstanding dedication to clients and colleagues, she was the inaugural recipient of DHJJ’s Frank Hnilo Service Award in 2024.

A resident of Naperville, Illinois, Arleen has two married adult sons and is a proud grandmother to two wonderful granddaughters.

She is passionate about her horse, Dooley, and her grand-dogs, Ellie and Prim.

Arleen contributes her leadership and financial expertise as Treasurer of the Naperville Riverwalk Board of Directors.
