About
Angela Scott, Principal, specializes in comprehensive tax planning and compliance for privately-held businesses and high-net-worth families. She has nearly three decades of experience serving high-net-worth individuals and businesses in the professional service, real estate, auto dealership, and manufacturing and distribution industries. Angela is deeply committed to building long-term relationships and helping families through complex and often emotional financial situations.
Angela’s interest in accounting began as a little girl, when she would help her dad reconcile his checkbook at the kitchen table. Although she did consider careers as an estate attorney, banker, or investment advisor, she ultimately chose accounting. After starting in corporate tax at CNA Insurance, she moved into public accounting and eventually joined DHJJ in 2021. She connected with DHJJ’s core values: respect for each other, family & faith, and excellent client service, which set us apart from other firms.
She earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting from Illinois State University and obtained a master’s in taxation from DePaul University. Angela is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the AIPCA and ILCPAS.
