Michelle Harrington works closely with businesses across multiple industry sectors in her role as Manager at DHJJ. She has a particular depth of experience serving construction, legal and medical clients, with 17 years of overall accounting experience.

Offering both tax and assurance services, Michelle is well versed in the strategies that increase accounting visibility while reducing tax liabilities. She helps clients navigate their responsibilities for sales and payroll taxes in addition to general business tax. Michelle also provides software consulting as a certified QuickBooks Pro Advisor to help businesses establish and maintain effective reporting systems and offers assistance for monthly, quarterly and ongoing data management.

Professional memberships include the AICPA, the Illinois CPA Society and Young Professionals, Naperville Chamber. Michelle was recognized as the Rookie of the Year in 2003 and more recently as the Jaycee of the Month by the Naperville Jaycees, where she is a committed longtime participant. She has also volunteered with the philanthropic organization Feed My Starving Children for several years.

Originally from Winfield, Illinois, Michelle took an accounting class her senior year in high school, loved it and never looked back. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Accounting at North Central College before taking up residency in her current home of Aurora. Michelle and her husband, Brian, love spoiling their yellow lab, Sammy. She also has several nieces and nephews (and a great niece and great nephew!) all of which she loves to spend time with, and of course, spoil.

Fun Facts:

  • Most CPAs play golf but Michelle’s sports of choice are volleyball – she began in junior high, and softball – a game she’s been playing since she was five.
  • There’s no dessert as satisfying as Michelle’s Grandma’s sponge cake.
  • She has a knack for acquiring those hard-to-get tickets. Michelle and her family go see Jimmy Buffett every year, and each time it’s Michelle who comes through with the enviable admission.
