Serving clients for almost three decades with DHJJ, Ken Overholt offers a wide-range of services to privately held businesses and individuals. Developing strong relationships and providing exceptionally responsive communication allows him to connect with people on a personal level and find solutions for improving their business.
Ken works with clients in diverse industries that include engineering, technology, wholesale and retail, restaurants, contractors and homebuilders. His focus lies in providing core accounting services that include tax planning, preparation and consulting, assurance services, management advisory services, budgeting and projections. Additionally, he provides accounting technology consulting for business owners, including Intacct support for DHJJ accounting clients.
Born in Clinton Iowa, Ken grew up in central Illinois. He always enjoyed working with numbers and decided to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Accounting at Illinois State University. He is a member of the AICPA and the Illinois CPA Society. Ken volunteers as treasurer of Samaritan Interfaith Counseling Center in Naperville, where he lives with his family, and serves as board chairman of the Foundation for Children in Need, a private charity devoted to helping underprivileged children in India.
Ken has been married to his wife, Peggy, for 30 years and is the father of two young adult sons.
- Ken taught himself to ride a unicycle when he was 13 – so well that he could play basketball on it. Thirty years later, he tried again and found that he can still ride it!
- Though he grew up as a Cubs fan, Ken has adopted the White Sox as his team, along with anything Notre Dame, where his oldest son was an athlete.
- He enjoys spending time outdoors and can often be found road cycling or playing golf.
