Nikki Wood joined DHJJ as an Accounting Manager in 2024, bringing over 10 years of expertise in financial management and strategic accounting. With a focus on small businesses, Nikki provides high-impact financial oversight that provide her clients with the information they need to make strategic business decisions.
Nikki specializes in process improvements to help businesses navigate the sometimes difficult day-to-day operations while providing support and guidance regarding compliance and internal controls. Her clients rely on her for assistance in developing efficient accounting processes and overseeing sales tax reporting, payroll, and accounts payable and receivables procedures while also ensuring financial statements are accurate and insightful.
After earning her Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Sciences from the New College of Florida, Nikki pursued additional hours from Purdue University Northwest to sit for the CPA exam. She received her CPA license in 2016. Nikki is experienced with Oracle JD Edwards and QuickBooks/QBO and is highly proficient in Toast integration with QBO utilizing xtraCHEF.
Outside of Work:
Nikki is originally from Illinois, but has lived in 6 states and one other country. She moved back to Illinois because she missed the snow, and she says, “Midwesterners really are the friendliest!”
In the winter, Nikki loves walking in the snow, cross-country skiing, and occasionally snowshoeing. In the summer, her favorite activities are Shakespeare in the Park and food festivals—more good reasons to live in Illinois!
Whether it’s pursuing ongoing professional education or learning how to fix something around her house, Nikki is committed to acquiring new knowledge and skills.
