Lee Schwendner is a Principal at DHJJ, serving clients in the firm’s St. Charles office. He brings 36 years of collected insights in the tax arena to help businesses deal with the various tax responsibilities they face. Lee truly enjoys analyzing tax law, cases and new regulations to understand how it all fits together in a business context. He possesses an unusual ability to translate tax regulations into plain English so non-accountants can quickly grasp the important factors and make informed decisions.
Working with clients across all industries, Lee offers an extraordinary wealth of knowledge to his clients on tax planning, state and local tax issues, sales tax requirements and other tax concerns. He conducts in-depth research for specialized tax requirements related to niche industries and specific services, as well as finding comprehensive approaches to taxation based on the needs of an individual business.
A member of the AICPA and the Illinois CPA Society, Lee is also a former member of the Tax Legislation Committee and Business Taxation Committee of the ICPAS. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Aurora University and a Masters of Accounting from Northern Illinois University.
Outside of Work:
Lee has been married for 29 years, and he and his wife have an adult son and daughter.
Lee enjoys bicycling, reading and movies.
A Cub Scout himself, Lee served as a troop leader with the Boy Scouts of America for 14 years
