Joanna is an accounting Manager at DHJJ, joining the firm in 2022. She brings over 20 years of specialized accounting experience and is a Certified Public Accountant.
She has professional experience that includes auditing with a public accounting firm, general accounting in private industry, individual and corporate tax preparation, and most recently, bookkeeping and advisory services to clients outsourcing part of their accounting function for mainly service, restaurant, and retail industries. Joanna is a QuickBooks ProAdvisor and helps clients with QuickBooks setup and implementation, clean up, or catch-up engagements. A review of accounting and related software is another service offering she can provide.
As a manager, Joanna enjoys the training and teaching aspect of guiding staff and clients on the most efficient ways to record and complete bookkeeping and accounting tasks and working together to figure out the best processes and strategies to obtain accurate and timely financial records. Joanna loves meeting new clients and hearing about their stories, with a strong emphasis on examining current procedures and working on process improvements, all with the business owners’ vision in mind. Joanna’s curious nature currently has her interested in and actively learning about accounting in the real estate industry and real estate investing.
Joanna received her accounting degree from Eastern Illinois University. She is originally from central Illinois but has lived in Naperville for over 25 years with her husband and three children.
Outside of Work:
Joanna loves to spend time with her husband and kids and extended family, especially anything outside or sports related.
She is a proud football and soccer mom. When not traveling to her son’s football games or daughter’s soccer games, she will be working on home projects, relaxing by the pool, or going on a walk.
When she finds a little free time one of these days she would like to explore photography. When it’s her turn to pick the vacation, you will always find her heading to the beach.
