Nancy Welch, CPA and Senior Associate at DHJJ, will serve as the Secretary of the Chicago South Chapter of the Illinois CPA Society for 2017-2018.
“I’ve been wanting to get more involved in the association because I believe it’s important for everyone in the profession to get out of their office and talk with other CPAs,” Nancy Welch said. “By volunteering, I feel I can help ensure there’s a space for CPAs to meet with each other and share ideas.”
Through this position, Nancy will work with other board members to offer members several networking opportunities, educational and social events throughout the year.
Todd Shapiro, President and CEO of the Illinois CPA Society, said the Society is very appreciative of the different chapter volunteers and their commitment to furthering the profession.
“One of the ways that CPAs stay on top of their game is by learning from and interacting with one another and Chapters provide CPAs with opportunities for learning including both formal and from one’s peers,” Shapiro said. “This penchant to lifelong learning is critical for CPAs to continue serving as trusted business advisors to their clients. The chapters of the Illinois CPA Society, which are volunteer driven, provide ongoing local opportunities for learning and connecting with peers.”
