The health and well-being of our clients, employees, and communities are in the forefront of our mind and of utmost importance. Our management team is monitoring the evolving status of COVID-19 caused by the coronavirus and its potential impact to DHJJ and our clients.
DHJJ will continue to monitor guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and the DuPage and Kane County Health Departments and will rely on their expertise and recommendations. The situation will be assessed daily with the health and safety of our employees and guests in mind. We will communicate via email and our website about any potential updates or changes to operations.
DHJJ has technology that enables our accountants and staff to work securely from any environment. If at some point the recommendation is made by the CDC or health departments to require employees to work from home, we will be able to continue providing our services to you in a secure manner.
In order to protect your best interests and ensure you receive the services needed; we would also like to bring to your attention ways we can service you remotely:
- DHJJ uses the secure portal ShareFile to exchange data electronically. Electronic documents, including your tax return, can be exchanged through ShareFile.
- As needed, we can also have video meetings and teleconferencing as applicable to service your needs.
- We can remote into your computer to assist you, if necessary
In addition, much has been reported about extending the due date of the tax return filing season. As of current writing of this announcement, there is no guidance as to which taxpayers this would apply to and to what date. Therefore, you should proceed as the due dates remain unchanged until further guidance from the Department of Treasury and various states’ Departments of Revenue. That said, if you need more time to file your taxes, an extension of time is available. Please contact your DHJJ representative if you need an extension. As mentioned above, we will continue to monitor this situation and will update you on our website and by e-mail.
Information about this virus is changing rapidly. You can stay informed by regularly visiting CDC.gov/Coronavirus.
Please be well and take care. Should you have any additional questions please do not hesitate to call your lead DHJJ team member at 630-420-1360 or go to our website at dhjj.com.
